PRIESTHOOD

This gospel rap trio took their name from Hebrews 7:24, "Because Jesus lives forever, we are a permanent priesthood." Priesthood began ministering in the local churches of Los Angeles back in 1994 with Dr. J. Raw and Papa Semm, using their hip hop/rap sound to present the gospel of Jesus Christ. But the trio was made complete in 1966 with the addition of Mr. Swift.

With their great vocals and dance style music, Priesthood has been a favorite among many in the inner city. Their first recording, Sprinkle Me Luv, under Metro One and their latest release is Keepin It Real. While both recordings have the hip-hop feel, Keepin It Real is harder than their latest debut with more energy similar to their live performances. In the world, Rao music has received a bad name but these three musicians believe the Rap stands for, "Righteous Anointed People" and when you hear their sounds, you will believe it too.
